WooCommerce · Badges & labels

Best WooCommerce trust badge & product label plugins

Two different widgets share this category. Trust badges — payment icons, secure-checkout seals, guarantee blocks — work on the cart and product page by pre-answering 'is this store real'. Product labels work on collection pages by directing the eye to the item you want sold. Labels are the more powerful of the two, because a well-placed 'Bestseller' or 'Only 3 left' tag on a grid changes what shoppers click, and click distribution is upstream of everything else.

How to choose

What actually separates these apps

Feature lists all look the same. These are the five things that change the outcome once the app is installed.

01 Rule-based labels

Manual tagging does not scale past a hundred SKUs. You want automatic rules — label anything discounted over 20%, anything created in the last 30 days, anything below 5 units of stock.

02 Image quality and retina

Badges render next to your product photography. Blurry, mismatched payment icons make a store look less trustworthy, which is the exact opposite of the point.

03 Collection grid support

Some apps only render labels on the product page. Check that labels appear on collection tiles, search results and featured-product sections, since that is where they earn their keep.

04 Honest claims

'256-bit SSL secured' is true of any store on HTTPS. Invented certification seals are a liability. Prefer badges that state real facts: accepted payment methods, your actual return window, your actual guarantee.

05 Bundle or specialist

Badges and labels are simple enough that a suite app covering badges, banners and timers often makes more sense than a dedicated app plus three others.

FAQ

Badges & labels on WooCommerce: common questions

Do trust badges increase conversion?
The credible effect is on the cart and checkout entry, where payment icons reduce hesitation about whether a card will be accepted. Badge blocks scattered across a homepage do very little. Put them where money changes hands.
Can I use payment logos like Visa and PayPal?
Yes, provided you actually accept those methods and use the current official assets at the sizes their brand guidelines specify. Showing a logo for a method you do not accept is a genuine legal problem, not a grey area.
What is the difference between a badge app and a label app?
Badges are static reassurance assets you place once. Labels are dynamic tags driven by product data — discount percentage, stock level, tags, creation date — that render on top of product images across the store.
Do product labels hurt page speed?
Labels rendered as CSS and text are effectively free. Labels rendered as individual images per product are not — on a 50-product collection page that is 50 extra requests. Prefer apps that use CSS-drawn or sprite-based labels.
