Which Shopify widget apps are actually growing

We re-read every listing in this index and keep the numbers. Over 1 weeks the 61 Shopify apps here gained 838 reviews between them. This is where they went.

2 surveys between 19 October 2026 and 26 October 2026, weekly since 19 October 2026

The two answers are different answers. Only 3 apps appear in both tables below. The apps collecting the most reviews and the apps growing fastest are nearly separate sets: the first list is the incumbents compounding, the second is where merchants are arriving now.
By volume

Most reviews gained in 1 weeks

Raw count. This table rewards size: an app with 40,000 reviews adds more in a week than a good app with 300 will all quarter, so read it as "who is already big and still moving", not as a recommendation.

By rate

Fastest growing, as a share of their own base

The same 1 weeks, divided by where each app started. Apps under 50 reviews are left out — a percentage off a base of twelve is arithmetic, not a trend. 61 of the 61 apps qualify.

By category

Fastest growing in each category

Growth is only comparable inside a category — a reviews app and a countdown timer are not competing for the same install.

How this is measured, and what it does not mean

A script re-reads every listing in this index, straight from the Shopify App Store's own structured data, and commits what moved. It has run 2 times — irregularly at first, then every Monday from 19 October 2026. Each number carries the date it was read, and the whole series is published here as JSON — 2 readings of 118 apps — so you can reproduce these tables, chart them yourself, or check any single figure against the live listing. Use it for whatever you like; a credit back here is appreciated and not required.

Four things this does not tell you.

1 weeks is a short window. One good campaign, one Shopify newsletter mention, one app-store feature can put an app at the top of the second table for a month. Treat a single reading as noise and a sustained line as information — which is why every row carries its shape rather than just its number.

Reviews are a proxy for adoption, not a measure of it. A small and uneven fraction of merchants ever leave one, and apps differ enormously in how hard they ask. Growth in reviews means merchants are arriving and some are being prompted; it does not measure installs, retention, or revenue, and nothing here does.

Growth is not quality. An app can grow quickly because it is good, because it is free, because it is aggressive about asking, or because it was featured. This page measures the movement and stops there; the category rankings are where we say what we would install, and they are not ranked on growth.

This is Shopify only, and that is a finding rather than a choice. Over the same window the WooCommerce plugins in this index moved by one review at the median and the BigCommerce apps by none. Those marketplaces publish real figures, but not enough movement to rank on — building a growth table out of a one-review difference would be exactly the kind of confident nonsense this site exists to avoid. If that changes, the page will say so.

The survey lands every Monday

We send what moved, what was delisted, and what it means once a month. No sponsorships.
